Full Body Safety Harness

All SECURE FIRST Harnesses are made of In-house dyed High Tenacity Polyester Yarn, imparting high resistance to UV, colour stability to wash & rubbing fastness.

Before wearing a Harness it is important to Inspect the Harness for certain features

  1. Hold the Harness by the back D-ring, and allow the straps to fall in its place. The Harness has clear and separate colours for the shoulder and thigh straps, for them to be easily distinguished.
  2. Inspect the Harness webbing for any cuts, burns or damages.
  3. Check the stitches for their continuity.
  4. Carefully look for any evidence of corrosion on the metal parts.
  5. SECURE FIRST Harnesses also give an assurance that the Harness has not been subjected to a fall, if the unique Fall Indicator is still secure on the shoulder straps. Full Body Safety Harness

Importance of Full Body Safety Harness

A Full Body Safety Harness is an essential piece of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) designed to protect workers from falls while working at heights. It plays a crucial role in ensuring safety in industries like construction, oil & gas, telecom, and maintenance work. Here’s why it is important:

1. Prevents Fatal Falls

A full-body harness distributes the impact of a fall evenly across the body, preventing severe injuries or fatalities. It ensures that workers remain securely attached to an anchor point in case of an accidental slip or fall.

2. Provides Even Weight Distribution

Unlike a simple belt or strap, a full-body harness supports the torso, legs, and shoulders, reducing strain on any single part of the body during a fall. This minimizes the risk of injury to the spine and internal organs.

3. Enhances Worker Efficiency & Confidence

Workers feel more secure when they know they are protected, which improves productivity. A good harness allows free movement while ensuring safety.

4. Compliance with Safety Regulations

Regulatory bodies like OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and ANSI (American National Standards Institute) mandate the use of full-body harnesses for working at heights. Non-compliance can lead to legal penalties and endanger lives.

5. Suitable for Various Work Environments

Full-body safety harnesses are designed for different industries and environments, such as:

  • Construction sites (scaffolding, roofing)

  • Wind energy sector (turbine maintenance)

  • Oil and gas industry (rig work)

  • Rescue operations (firefighters, emergency response teams)

6. Reduces Impact Forces on the Body

A properly designed harness absorbs shock forces and prevents excessive pressure on a single point of the body, reducing the chances of injury in case of a fall.

7. Supports Fall Arrest & Work Positioning Systems

Full-body harnesses work with lanyards, lifelines, and fall arrest systems, allowing workers to operate safely while maintaining balance at heights.

Conclusion

Using a Full Body Safety Harness is not just a precaution; it is a necessity for anyone working at heights. Investing in high-quality safety harnesses, like those provided by Secure First, ensures worker protection, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
