How Does a Fall Arrester Work?
A fall arrester functions by detecting a sudden fall and automatically engaging a locking mechanism, preventing a worker from free-falling. Depending on the work environment, fall arresters come in different forms, such as rope grab fall arresters, retractable fall arrest blocks (SRLs), and lanyards with energy absorbers. These systems work in conjunction with safety harnesses and anchor points, providing full fall protection.
